If you’re visiting London and looking for boutique luxury in the heart of Leicester Square, Victory House Hotel is the perfect choice.
In the very centre of the West End, Victory House Hotel is a hidden gem just off the main square, surrounded by cinemas, theatres, comedy, casinos, restaurants and bars all just seconds away.
With Hollywood stars premiering their movies pretty much every week in Leicester Square, Victory House Hotel’s cinematic theme is noticeable throughout, from the monochrome colour palate and art deco furnishings to the pictures on the walls of glamourous starlets and movie icons from the Golden days.
Reception is cosy and welcoming with plenty of comfy seating areas to chill out in (you’ll probably use this area while you’re waiting for your friends and family to get ready, or to plan your map if you’re doing the tourist trail – Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, Oxford Circus and Soho are all on the door step!)
The ground floor is also home to Victory House Hotel’s Italian inspired bar and restaurant Granaio. The menu pays homage to grandma’s traditional recipes, while it’s also an elegant space in which to enjoy pre or post drinks, depending on your plans.
With a range of room grades from a classic single room to the deluxe suite, there are only 86 in total which means you get a much more personal level of service than the capital’s sprawling hotel complexes.
Our Executive Queen Room was chic and compact, making great use of the space available. It’s the perfect size room you’d need with plenty of room for two to comfortably get ready and enjoy a delightful nights’ sleep in. The gorgeous round windows reminiscent of those on a ship gave us a great view of the hustle and bustle of Leicester Square below.
Our room also benefitted from wifi, a good hairdryer (very important!), bathrobes, a 40” flat screen TV, blackout blinds, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary bathroom products and ear plugs! Thankfully, the ear plugs weren’t needed – we were suitably exhausted after a day of exploring and a evening of dinner and dancing!
Breakfast the next morning (also served in Granaio), was delicious. From the cooked full English to eggs every which way and pots of fresh coffee, we were suitably geared up for another day on the city’s tourist trail.
With a stunning design, enviable location, and great functional boutique bedrooms, Victory House Hotel should be your number one choice if you’re looking to make the most of all the amazing city of London has to offer.
