I arrived at Hannah London’s chic Harley Street clinic to meet with Doctor Kaywaan Khan – the clinic’s Director, Medical Doctor and Aesthetician to have my consultation for a Profhilo treatment with Botox. Having just turned 40, I was looking at preventing skin ageing whilst hydrating, replenishing, and tightening my skin. Doctor Khan took me through a detailed consultation and answered all my questions, he was very knowledgeable. As we age, our skin’s ability to produce collagen declines so Profhilo rejuvenates the skin’s own collagen-making abilities.
I’ve always looked after my skin in my 30’s but whilst working full-time from home throughout lockdowns and having lots of Zoom meetings, this didn’t do my skin any favours, so I was ready to look at trying alternative treatments to slow down the effects of the ageing process.
Having spoken with various dermatologists in the past, I discovered a treatment called Profhilo which is also known as the injectable moisturiser. This is not the same as fillers and a far more holistic treatment which involves having hyaluronic acid injected into the face during two treatments which are four weeks apart.
Doctor Khan suggested I have some Botox to tackle a few of my wrinkles as Profhilo is the perfect partner to give an overall radiance boost whilst complimenting Botox treatment at the same time.
I was injected five times on each side of my face and while some of the injections felt a little stingy, my face was back to normal a couple of hours after leaving the Hannah London. Doctor Khan explained that this treatment will promote a firmer and healthier complexion by boosting collagen and elastic whilst smoothing out fine lines. I was given a post-procedure fast skin repair cream to use for a few days after the treatment instead of my normal skincare routine.
I noticed a subtle improvement in the texture of my skin after a few weeks, the Botox worked quickly, and I was very pleased with the results. However, it was a couple of weeks after I returned for my second full Profhilo treatment, that I noticed a much-improved texture in my skin and a real healthy glow – the results were evident and I looked more youthful and glowing.
I asked Doctor Khan how often I should have Profhilo treatment as some Doctors confirm a single treatment every three months for maintenance whereas others do a course every six to 12 months. There’s no science to support one way or the other so for those avoiding filler, a 12 weekly top-up is a great way to maintain the Profhilo hydration. However, most people like myself will prefer to do the course every six months to a year to maintain the treatment for great results.
The radiance boost from Profhilo was simply wonderful and it kept on improving as my skin produced more and more collagen. A far better result from all the creams, serums and skin products I use.
Profhilo with Dr Khan will cost you £595 for two treatments and a single session costs £395, with two treatments recommend initially, four weeks apart. For further information visit the Hannah London website or call 0208 2026187.
