Palm 34 at 34 Mayfair
Bringing epic Cali vibes and vibrant colour to the heart of Mayfair, 34 Mayfair’s brand new limited edition menu launches on 24th August with its Palm 34 collaboration with Perrier-Jouët Champagne and Malfy Gin. Transporting guests across the pond with the restaurant’s palm tree and pink flamingo exterior installation, diners will be able to enjoy dishes like the salmon poke bowl with pineapple, edamame, wild rice, and ponzu and ginger dressing, crab and sweetcorn fritters and Korean BBQ spiced spatchcock chicken. We can’t wait to try the passionfruit parfait with alphonso mango and black sesame washed down with a delicious glass of Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé Champagne… Cocktails meanwhile will be pink, evoking the taste of summer with Think Pink (made with Malfy Rosa gin) and the 34 Palm.
National Burger Day at Café Biltmore
Luxe-burgers is what we’re talking about for National Burger Day on August 27th and if you’re the same, then you’ll want yours made by a Michelin starred chef. Café Biltmore by Jason Atherton in Mayfair is the perfect spot to enjoy fresh fish and meat from the restaurant’s Japanese charcoal grill and we’ve got our eye on this satisfying buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, served in a brioche bun with lettuce, special Churchill sauce and moreish skinny fries. Afternoon Tea Week at The Langham
We’ve Lady Bedford to thank for the luxurious experience now known as Afternoon Tea. Her Majesty Queen Victoria’s lady in waiting was the first to come up with the idea of high tea, while it was The Langham who became the first hotel to popularise it when it opened in 1865. You’ll be pleased to hear things have progressed since then and The Langham’s incredible pastry chefs have adapted accordingly! This latest offering is a creation from none other than Chef Michel Roux Jr and Executive Pastry Chef Andrew Gravett, and is inspired by the nation’s favourite biscuits, paired with a range of JING teas and English sparkling wine from the boutique Gusbourne vineyards in Kent. Savoury Afternoon Tea at The Athenaeum for Afternoon Tea Week
Afternoon Tea can be all too sweet sometimes, but to celebrate Afternoon Tea week in the capital, (9th – 15th August), The Athenaeum have embraced something a bit more savoury with their new menu. For cake haters and pastry avoiders comes the perfect offering with more sarnies, pasties and sugarless scones than you can shake a tiered stand at. Guests can look forward to mouthwatering hot smoked salmon sandwiches with spring onion and lemon sour cream, along with avocado, grilled courgette, coriander and almond, and a selection of scones like the Lincolnshire poacher cheddar or pickled celery, figs and walnut. Six by Nico – The Amalfi Coast Menu
Bringing some serious style to summer, Six by Nico have revealed their new menu as they take guests through a culinary Amalfi Coast experience. Showcasing regional cuisines from glamorous Positano and Amalfi, Ravello and Minori, the latest offering from Nico Simeone will transport guests to warmer climes and gastronomic heights with six beautifully plated dishes. Parmesan polenta, burrata with heirloom tomato, squid ink spaghetti vongole, pork, seabass and a delightfully refreshing delizia al limone are guaranteed to tantalise the tastebuds! Try the new menu for £32 at Six by Nico Glasgow Finnieston, Glasgow Southside, Edinburgh City Centre, Manchester City Centre, Liverpool City Centre, Belfast Cathedral Quarter and London Fitzrovia (£37), with optional wine pairings priced at £33.
Le Fez, Putney Re-opens!
Get those dance shoes on and hotfoot it to Putters where the queue outside newly re-furbed Le Fez is already forming! The French inspired interiors of Le Club will have you hitting the spotlight dance floor quicker than you can order a case of champs to your table, while the new garden themed Le Jardin area of the club now includes the highly Instagrammable Secret Garden – a private haven with birdcage booths, flowers, foliage and killer cocktails. With DJ led nights, comedy nights and events, it’s a definite for your radar this month.
Tokyo Nights at Ivy Asia Manchester
How fun does this look?! In honour of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, this Thursday and Friday The Ivy Asia Manchester will be putting on a medal winning performance 7pm – midnight with delicious dishes, a tonne of entertainment and very special cocktails in collaboration with House of Suntory. Partner in Wine Launches Super Cool Summer Colours
We’ve raved about Partner in Wine’s awesome range many a time, so we were mega excited to see their range of oh-so-Instagrammable gorgeous new colours to accompany your summer picnics, beach days and walks. In desert sand and lavender, insulated bottles which hold a whole bottle of wine are £35 with tumblers at £25. Remember, they keep drinks cold for up to 24 hours, or hot for up to 12. Beluga Vodka Weekend Brunches at London’s Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Terrace
Masterchef The Professionals finalist Chef Philli Armitage-Mattin has created two gorgeous new weekend brunches on the Beluga Vodka Terrace at Fifth Floor at Harvey Nichols. With an extension to the Beluga Terrace’s summer residency, the luxurious offering will serve up twists on brunch classics along with delicious Beluga cocktails from the premium Russian vodka brand including the Beluga Bloody Mary, the Beluga Espresso Martini for a caffeine kick and the Beluga Aperi-Teavo made with Darjeeling tea, fresh cloudy apple juice and prosecco. Dishes meanwhile will include eggs royale with caviar, heritage tomato panzanella, buratta salad with rocket and brown butter truffle egg croissants! NEW – Benjamin’s Whisky Bar at Harvey Nichols
New 24 cover bar Benjamin’s is nestled snugly within the menswear department at Harvey Nichols and will serve up over 100 luxurious whiskies including the very rare Glengoyne 50 Year Old and Tamdhu 50 Year Old. Along with an exceptional cocktail list courtesy of bartender Rik Patel (formerly of Mayfair’s Magpie, Adam Handling and Cornerstone Hackney), customers will also be able to explore a range of wines by the glass thanks to Coravin. The stylish setting complete with low level mood lighting will open on Monday 2nd August.
NEW – Members Cocktail Bar Martinez Opens in Soho
Forgotten vintage cocktails and much loved classics is what you’ll get from new super cool members cocktail bar Martinez which has just opened on Greek Street in Soho. With a dream team running the show (headed up by Maurice Marshall formerly of Sketch and Scorpios in Mykonos,), these guys know a thing or two about exceptional drinks experiences. The selective yet inclusive membership package priced at £300 per year will encourage diverse communities and a friendly vibe at the bar, while members will be given a one-on-one drinks orientation when joining so that you’ll always get your favourite drink. The airy loft-style space offers old-school glamour and chic Art-Deco accents, with drinks overseen by highly acclaimed industry legend Dré Masso, along with specialists ‘The Cocktail Lovers’, Gary Sharpen & Sandrae Lawrence. Expect gorgeous cocktails including The Martinez and snacks like truffle croque and lobster thermidor petit choux from Michelin-starred Chef Hervé Deville. Membership applications are now open.
NEW – Second Site for Hacha Bar at Brixton Market
Award-winning agaveria bar Hacha, is opening a second site in Brixton Market this month featuring the much loved Agave List with a rotating menu of 25 tequilas, mezcals, and lesser-known agave spirits. The new Hacha will be set across two floors with an open kitchen and awesome Mirror Margarita bottle shop, while Hacha’s signature cocktail of the same name will also be served upstairs. With a menu created in partnership with Main Azul, expect favourites like Camote Tacos, Chicken Tinga, and the popular Cheese Chicharon bar snack on the menu, along with a range of brand spanking new dishes for the Brixton crowd.
Six by Nico Canary Wharf
Six by Nico’s largest site yet has just opened at Canary Wharf. The new flagship restaurant and bar from Nico Simeone will offer a new six course set menu every six weeks starting with ‘Cooking The Chippie’. The first course of chips and cheese with parmesan espuma, curry oil and emulsion and crisp potato terrine is a definite menu highlight, along with Nico’s unique take on the traditional scampi which sees Scrabster Monkfish Cheek, dill emulsion, gribiche, peas and beurre blanc. £37pp with optional wine pairing priced at £33.
Design District Canteen
Just look at this place! Opening in September, Design District Canteen will house six global street food operators in one giant glass space. The awesome structure in the heart of Greenwich Peninsula has been created by Spanish architects Jose Selgas and Lucia Cano and will include a tree canopy to sit, eat and drink under. With food from Eat Lah (Malaysian), Ehla (Eastern Mediterranean), Guasa (Arepas and Venezuelan), SUGO (Italian) and Raastawala (Raastawala), there’ll also be sandwiches and raclette from Toasted by The Great British Charcuterie Sandwich & Cheese Bar.
Wiltons Seven Course Summer Menu
Wiltons – one of our favourite fine dining restaurants at St. James have launched their stunning seven course summer Prestige Menu from Head Chef Daniel Kent. Available Monday to Saturday from 5.30pm – 8.30pm, the special menu will offer up crisp oyster and lobster bisque among other seasonal delights. £89 per person with accompanying four glass wine flight for an additional £55.
Mango Festival at Trishna
We’re definitely in need of an Indian summer and thanks to Trishna, you’ll be feeling the vibe right through to September with their Mango Festival limited edition food and drinks menu!
With fruit an already important feature on the South West Indian menu, guests will be blown away by the irresistible coconut and corn tikki wth mint and mango murabba and the paneer tikka anardana with mango which are already on the main menu. But in addition, new dishes include the seafood and mango salad, and mango curry with hake fillet. The three course set menu is priced at £35pp or £40pp for four courses and is available all day Monday and Tuesday and for lunch and early evening for the rest of the week. A range of limited edition pours including Ketel One vodka and tonic will also be available. In celebration of the mango, Trishna’s had a makeover with mango trees and stunning greenery to reflect the season!

New Scandinavian spirit brand Nuet Aquavit are throwing a kräftskiva which means Late Summer Crayfish PARTAY on 7th September at EKTE Nordic Kitchen. This traditional Nordic celebration means there’ll be shots, singing and of course a delicious crayfish feast with a Nuet Aquavit cocktail on arrival at 6.30pm. £35pp (or £55pp with 2 hours of Prosecco). Chef Nancy Silverton who you might know from Netflix’s Chef’s Table has opened the first UK outpost of famed LA restaurant Pizzeria Mozza at Treehouse Hotel London. As well as amazing pizza, there’s a gorgeous selection of meat and fish dishes, plus Nancy’s Fancy own brand ice cream is a must-order for dessert.
Lewis Hamilton’s ethical sustainable burger brand Neat Burger is coming to Finsbury Park and will open on the 19th August in time for National Burger Day.
Balthazar has launched its Joie de Vivre partnership with Grey Goose Vodka offering with limited edition cocktails, live entertainment and a chic pop up terrace bar in the heart of Covent Garden.
Pali Hill in Fitzrovia will be celebrating Indian Independence Day with a special menu on Saturday 15th August from 12-4pm. With a range of gorgeous dishes like Kerala fish fry and mutter paneer masala, you can book for brunch here.
