For a relaxing boutique stay, Hotel Riomar – A Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Ibiza’s Santa Eulalia, is the perfect base to recharge in a beautiful part of the Balearics.

Relatively tucked away at one end of Santa Eulalia Bay, with a huge selection of bars and restaurants at the other (a leisurely and picturesque 10 minute saunter away), Hotel Riomar is the perfect base for exploring what other parts of the island of Ibiza have to offer. If you’re looking for the crazy parties, then you won’t find them here – a sophisticated chilled out vibe including tunes by the pool is definitely more the scene.
You’ll also find W Ibiza right next door. This cool hotel with its incredible design, array of dining options and glamourous rooftop bar makes it a great option for lunch, dinner or drinks, and it’s literally just a two minute walk. As a guest of Hotel Riomar, you’re also invited to use W Ibiza’s gym facilities – a great option before a guilt-free cocktail or three from the Hotel Riomar’s art-deco style bar!
Hotel Riomar’s rooms boast understated chic interiors. As we opened the door to our sea view double, all we could hear was the waves – that wonderfully relaxing sound that’s so easy to drop off to sleep to.
Modern and minimal, we loved the pad on the wall which controlled all of the lighting. Decorated in neutral shades with clean lines and floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering up those stunning views, we’d definitely recommend a room overlooking the beach. The balconies are the perfect size and in the perfect position for a spot of people watching while you enjoy an ice cold glass of Spanish white late afternoon.
While there are bigger rooms available including deluxe suites which come with a separate living room area, for the amount of time we spent in our room, ours was just right. With fluffy robes and slippers, satisfying air con, a safety deposit box, ample space to hang clothes, plenty of drawers, and of course those insane views, we couldn’t think of anything else we needed.
While the bathrooms in hotel rooms don’t usually warrant much of a mention, Hotel Riomar’s bathrooms really hit the spot! Spa-like in their design, we were super impressed by the stone slabs, dark lighting, powerful shower and the smell of the gorgeous complimentary products, ticking every one of our bathroom boxes.
Spending most of our days lounging by the pool, the decked area offers up a luxurious sun spot in which to soak up the rays. Those chunky padded loungers are uber comfy, while there are plenty of umbrellas if you fancy some shade – and there’s even cute teepees for the ultimate in chill out experiences!
Hotel Riomar’s buffet breakfast at Côte Moderne has everything you could want to set you up for the day! Juices and flavoured waters, coffee and teas, breads and pastries including chocolate croissants and gluten free options, a full cooked breakfast, cold meats, fish, cheeses and yoghurts and cereals… There’s nothing better than a leisurely hearty breakfast is there? What’s more, you can really make it a relaxed affair, as we were surprised to discover it runs until 11.30! Awash with white for an understated beach club feel, you’ll find it easy as we did to while away a couple of hours sipping coffee and looking out at that incredible view.
With Covid measures still pretty strict out in Ibiza at the time we visited, guests are required to wear masks when moving between areas and through the hotel, and while it might not go with your swimwear it’s a small price to pay for a piece of paradise!
Hotel Riomar also offers a very efficient service with a doctor arriving daily at 11.30 to carry out PCR and antigen tests for guests who are returning to countries which require proof of a negative Coronavirus result on entry. The results are then emailed straight to you which saved us time heading out to find a pharmacy which offered the service.
Hotel Riomar has a wonderful friendly feel to it. With its contemporary design, chic bedrooms, superior pool experience and brilliant location, it’s the perfect Ibiza escape.
