We’ve sampled the delights of the Valentine’s Spanish Board for two with Rioja (£70.00) and can confirm it is indeed salivatingly delicious! Included in your romantic feast for two is a bottle of Marques de Vargas Reserva – a quality Rioja with Tempranillo grapes (think oaky, smokey, juicy and full with a hint of vanilla), and a gorgeous range of cheeses and Iberian pork cuts which are a match made in heaven. Olives, almonds, apple compote, picos, truffles and olive oil crisps provide the very finest accompaniments. Rather go out out?! Well, José’s restaurants will welcome you with a fabulous special set menu! At Pizarro Restaurant Bermondsey (11th – 14th Feb), there’s an 8-course Valentine’s tasting menu which includes Mediterranean prawn and Iberian pork Catalan canelon, and Galician rib eye steak!
Meanwhile, at José Pizarro Broadgate Circle, (for Valentine’s Day only), there’s a special Oyster & Cava duo offering up two oysters served with green apple and cider vinegar, and a glass of cava for just £12, while the same offer will be available throughout the whole month of February with José Pizarro at The RA. And at The Swann Inn, Esher (11th – 14th Feb), there’s a very special steak and chips on the menu – the Basque Txuleton Steak served with homemade chips and padron peppers….
