As we wave goodbye to summer, we welcome the change of season with so many new exciting openings, unique experiences and special edition collaborations. From a special blow dry and bubbles package at The Ivy Asia Chelsea to Chotto Matte’s gorgeous new menu, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the Luxe List September.
The Ivy Chelsea – The Ultimate Pamper Session
Chelsea restaurant, The Ivy Asia, has teamed up with salon Duck & Dry for a blow dry and lunch package in what can only be described as the ultimate pamper session! Located on London’s fashionable King’s Road, you’ll be treated to a luxurious wash and blow dry by one of the salon’s professionally-trained stylists. Then you can relax with a glass of Prosecco while browsing the lunch menu which features an array of mouth-watering savoury and sweet treats. Options include a mizuna and cucumber salad with sesame and yuzu dressing, hot and sour chicken with plum spring onion and soft serve ice cream with mango sauce and chocolate pearls. It’s available from 11:30 am on weekdays and costs £70 per person. But with a lunch package as luxurious as this, we wouldn’t recommend trying to squeeze this in during work hours!
Ochre Rocks Night
Located in London’s iconic National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, Ochre Rocks is where fine art meets fine dining. The relatively new restaurant is by Charlotte and Sam Miller, the husband-and-wife duo behind Muriel’s Kitchen in South Kensington. It features “seasonal British ingredients, blending international flavours and modern European cooking.” From September 8th, a Thursday night party will take place every week with live DJ sets, dancing, drinking and dining making it anything but a traditional gallery restaurant. Be tempted by Champagne as well New World and European wines and house-crafted cocktails – many of which are inspired by famous works in the National Gallery. Food-wise, there’s a sharing menu with dishes such as the Scottish scallops with baby turnip, chorizo, preserved lemon and Cime di Rapa and many more!
Bar Swift – New Opening in Borough
Borough’s about to get even better (is that even possible?) with Bar Swift set to open its third venue, serving up some of London’s best cocktails! Set over two floors of a narrow townhouse on Borough High Street, it will mirror the iconic art-deco aesthetic and layout of the original Swift Soho. Upstairs, there’s a light, bright walk-in-only space with a curated menu of classic-inspired cocktails and aperitivo drinks. Downstairs is dimly-lit with a more intimate, seated-only area and an original high-concept menu featuring seasonal produce from the stellar community of neighbouring market stallholders. If Swift Borough is anything like its sister venues at Soho and Shoreditch (regularly featured on the World’s 50 Best Bars list), it’s set to fill up and swiftly become one of the best new bars in town – we simply cannot wait to try!
Annabel’s X The Lost Explorer Mezcal
You can now have a taste of the exclusive private members club Annabel’s as they’ve teamed up with the multi-award-winning The Lost Explorer Mezcal to bring you a special edition bottle. The Lost Explorer Mezcal is a handcrafted spirit made in Mexico, bottled and sealed with biodegradable products. It’s available to purchase at Selfridges, Hedonism Wines and The Whisky Shop from September 5th with the artisan bottle emulating Annabel’s exotic Amazon Rainforest inspired Façade. But it doesn’t just look great, it’s also doing great with the proceeds helping plant 35 trees in the Amazon. It’s a super limited edition bottle with only 1000 available, so you’ll have to be quick to get your hands on this!
Chotto Matte – New Menu
Chotto Matte is a champion of Nikkei cuisine (a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian), with bold eye-catching natural colours and mouth-watering taste sensations. They’ve been delighting London revellers for the past nine years and have recently introduced a new Tokyo to Lima cocktail menu. ‘Aleteo’ is one of the star seasonal tipples, described as a “grown-up tiki drink with smoke.” Each of the creations pushes the boundaries by mixing premium spirits with signature ingredients from the kitchen. Internationally renowned Executive Chef, Jordan Sclare, has expertly paired the new drinks menu with star dishes such as the Yellowtail ‘Nikkei Sashimi’ with jalapeño, coriander and yuzu truffle soy and Black Cod Aji Miso with chilli miso marinade, yuzu and chives. This limited edition cocktail menu is available at both their Soho (recently refurbished) and Marylebone venues this September.
The Palm House – New Opening
Inspired by Cuba and Miami’s 1930s clubhouses, The Palm House, is a new drinking and dining destination in Victoria set to open later in the month. It will take over the huge space left by Aster’s in the Nova development and is set over two floors. On the ground, there’ll be a Miami clubhouse with swaying palm trees and glimmering lights and a colourful Cuban mezzanine complete with a daiquiri bar upstairs. The food and drinks menu is inspired by the vibrant Miami style and matched with the ingredients and flavours of Cuba. The menu is split into smaller and larger plates, as well as sides and desserts. There’ll also be weekend brunch parties and a Saturday night 5-course dinner and cocktail party with DJs, percussionists and other live entertainment to keep the party going. It’s the latest venture from Incipio, the group behind London’s most loved party venues including The Prince, Pergola Paddington and Lost in Brixton.
