Marriott’s W Hotel brand are at the top of their game when it comes to executing uber cool vibes in a five star setting. W London’s glass building smack bang in the middle of London’s Leicester’s Square is somewhat discreet from the outside (well apart from the large W, you wouldn’t know what goes on in there.. unless of course, you know!)
Having run a number of popular brunches over the years, W London have just launched the awesome Weekenders Brunch at its opulent Perception Bar on the first floor of the hotel. Available every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm-5.30pm with a citrus twist, it carries the mantra that nothing tastes better than the weekend feels, unless of course you combine the two!
The Weekenders Brunch offer is well priced for central London and offers two courses for £34, all complimented with Chandon Garden Spritz and Whispering Angel at an added £10 per glass – a deal hard to say no to! Those choosing not to drink, are not going to be left out with a fantastic range of ‘mocktails’ on offer too. I opted for the Naked Blueberry – a delightfully refreshing combo of muddled blueberries, fresh lemon juice for added zing, fresh apple juice to balance, topped up with ginger beer. With so much going on in the glass, you definitely didn’t need the alcohol.
I chose the Summer Bowl with fresh tuna as a main course. Although the fish was slightly stringy, it was generally a delicious bowl of freshness with vegetables including beetroot, edamame beans, avocado and broccoli on a bed of quinoa scattered with gorgeous edible flowers. My friend went for the W Spice Chicken and raved about the tender meat and depth of flavours, served on bulgur wheat with micro herbs, feta and sumac yoghurt. Other enticing options were the fried chicken burger with sriracha, ranch dressing, crispy onion and pickled red cabbage or the roast sea bass with fennel, cherry tomato compote and olive tapenade.
Little did we know, the best was yet to come. Perception Bar’s Weekender’s Brunch features a gorgeous range of tantalising desserts. Luxe Bible would definitely recommend the Smashable Orange with Edible Chocolate Soil. For an immersive experience and that twist of citrus, it really hit the spot – especially when served with a miniature spade as a spoon. It is also available in alcoholic and non alcoholic options, vegan and non vegan forms meaning no one misses out!
The Perception Bar in W London is the ideal spot to go to after a long day out in the West End. It has good food in a relaxing yet funky environment that you really could very easily ‘spritz’ the day away at. Check out the delicious menu here and book here.
