The whimsical fairytale setting of the brand spanking new Movenpick Myth Hotel is guaranteed to change your perception of Patong.
Set right back from hectic Pee Road, you’ll find you’re transported in moments from absolute mayhem, to a tranquil paradise.
Unlike any hotel you’re likely to stay in while you’re in Thailand, the exterior of the Movenpick Myth Hotel in Patong is pretty spectacular. Encapsulating King Rama V’s vision to modernise Thailand along with his love of European architecture, while interwining the much earlier Sino-Portugese colonial style, the result is quite breath taking. Art inspired pillars and curves, flashes of colour, intricate design, and the hundreds of beautiful tiny windows make this a truly stand out building.
The Rooms at Movenpick Myth Hotel
Our deluxe room was a dream to sleep in. With 100% Egyptian cotton linen on the gigantic sized double bed, the room included a divine bathroom with corner bath tub and separate rain shower, wifi, 43 inch HD TV and 24 hour room service.
The authentic, stylish art-deco design with its high lacquered furnishings, mirrors and metallics were mesmerising. The piece de resistance feature of this room though of course was the immediate jacuzzi access leading into the stunning free form pool. The mezzanine design of the hotel means that most rooms benefit from a stunning view below.
Atrio Restaurant
In keeping with the theme of the hotel, the restaurant is beautifully art deco with gemoetric monochrome floor tiling, vivid green and blue furnishings and a sweeping staircase that wouldn’t look out of place in a classic novel. It’s the kind of dining room you’ll want to get dressed up for. Open all day from 6am until 11pm, you can expect a mixture of international and classic dishes and a range of new and old world wines.
The Pool Area
Even though the rooms are pretty amazing, once you’ve seen the pool area, you’ll no doubt want to spend a lot of time around it! Oozing elegance and style, the stunning bridges which connect the central sun lounger area with the hotel are so charming and perfect for photo opportunities.
One of the biggest swimming pools I’ve experienced at a hotel, you could spend all day swimming lengths around the rocky display at the far end, right up to the swim up Azure Pool Bar at the other. And of course, if you have a deluxe pool suite, you can swim home too, or grab a quick jacuzzi before heading back to your lounger to soak up the rays, with a cocktail in hand.
Other Impressive Hotel Features
Bar Rocco is the hotel’s signature bar with both Old World and New World wines, and innovative and delicious cocktails. It makes for a great place to relax and enjoy a pre-dinner drink before heading into Atrio or for a stop off afterwards for a digestif before bed.
The A Vida Spa meanwhile, is a haven of tranquility, where you can unwind while experiencing tailor made treatments which have been inspired by ancient Chinese healing methodologies. Try the signature spa package which allows you to indulge in a 30 minute milk bath, before experiencing the signature Champaca floral body polish ahead of a full hour of Swedish massage. The gym on site will keep that bikini body in check – fully equipped with the latest equipment along with an area for stretching or sit ups.
Flamboyant yet beautifully elegant, the Movenpick Myth Hotel Patong is a shining example of the Movenpick brand who manage to cater to its visitors every needs, in settings which impress on a grand scale.
