#NationalMicroneedlingDay
The last week in October is home to National Microneedling Day – a non-surgical and minimally invasive treatment which has truly revolutionised anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation in recent years.
The popularity of microneedling knows no bounds – with Victoria Beckham recently revealing she swears by this treatment to maintain her youthful glow… alongside countless other A-Listers.
Not only has microneedling grown in populanty. it’s also grown and adapted with developments in technology and aesthetic medicine… evolving from derma-rollers to precise microneedling pens and handpieces; with or without additional skin enhancing technology such as radiotrequency energy (RF.) And microneedling, when used in a combination treatment approach (e.g. performing the treatment alongside others or with topical, active ingredients) now allows practitioners to truly supercharge patient results: as part of a bespoke tweakment plan.
Not only that – microneedling is now used to treat other areas of the body… no longer just focussing on the face. From intimate areas (think cutting-edge tech Empower RF / Morpheus8 V by InMode Middle East) to tightening, lifting and rejuvenating skin on the abdomen (shout out to Morpheus8 body treatments, raved about by A-list celebs such as Kim Kardashian & Eva Longoria!), microneedling is big business – and most definitely here to stay.
With the 26th October being National Microneedling Day, what better time than the present to share some microneedling love… with two of our AW23 new season skin faves; Morpheus8 by InMode Middle East and skin targeted microneedling with Polynucleotides & Exosomes at Emma Wedgwood Aesthetics.
Morpheus8: Radiofrequency Microneedling for the Face & Body from InMode Middle East It’s no secret that celebrities love Morpheus8 – with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood reaping the benefits of this innovative, microneedling + radiofrequency treatment. From the Kardashians to Victoria Beckham, and from Bella Thorne to Eva Longoria… Morpheus8 is one of the hottest non-surgical treatments on the market.
Morpheus8 takes microneedling to new heights; with the handpiece’s super-fine micro-needles penetrating deeper into the skin than traditional microneedling treatments; delivering targeted radiofrequency energy into the deeper levels of your complexion.
During a Morpheus8 treatment, 24 ultra-fine needles deliver an electric current deep into the skin. This causes molecules in the underlying, deepest skin layers to rotate & create neat in the tissue, kickstarting collagen production… treating both the surface and deeper layers of the skin. Stimulating collagen within your complexion encourages it to regenerate; healing, brightening and rejuvenating your skin’s appearance, leaving it noticeably firmer. Morpheus8 is an excellent alternative to filler treatments thanks to this – as it’s able to target deep imperfections and scarring; leaving skin lifted & rejuvenated. From acne to signs of ageing, and from loss of defnition to scarring… this powerhouse treatment covers it all!
Who else has had Morpheus8?
As well as Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria and Bella Thorne? The list continues! After her session back in November 2020, Amanda Holden wrote on Instagram: “The results have been absolutely amazing. I’ve noticed a real plumpness to my skin and it’s much tighter! It’s
been the best hour investment for looking at least five years younger.” Judy Murray credited Morpheus8 with transforming her ‘turkey neck’ in viral Instagram posts and Love Island’s Olivia Attwood had it on her face dung her hit ITV2 series revealing that she ‘really rates’ it. Steps’ Faye Tozer also credited Morpheus8 with turning back the clock, writing on Instagram, “The changes are subtle. but they have made the world of difference to me.”
Jessica Simpson, Paula Abdul and many, many more have also undergone this trending tweakment. Have you tried it yet?
The New Kid on the Block: Combining Microneedling with Exosomes / Polynucleotides at Emma Wedgwood Aesthetics
Whilst microneedling is a tried & tested skin rejuvenating favourite we’re all pretty familiar with, adoption of polynucleotides and exosomes is a newer trend in aesthetic medicine.
Microneedling alone is a great overall skin boosting treatment… but when combined with potent Polynucleotides or exosomes, the results are supercharged. Combination treatments are most definitely the future! “Microneedling is a popular cosmetic procedure that involves using tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface,” Advanced Nurse Practitioner & Prescriber Emma Wedgwood (founder of emmawedgwoodaesthetics.co.uk) explains.
“This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response, leading to improved skin texture, reduced fine lines and the potential treatment of acne scarring. Despite being minimally invasive, microneedling can provide significant benefits for those looking to enhance their skin’s appearance – especially when supercharged with Exosomes!”
What are exosomes? “Exosome treatments deliver a ground-breaking combination of ingredients to the skin – including stem cells, which transferring information your cells need to trigger repair and renewal,” Emma explains. “Microneedling with Exosomes is fantastic for the skin – and also the scalp, tackling hair loss and enabling healthy hair growth.”
“Microneedling with Exosomes rejuvenates your skin, whilst tackling dullness, acne, acne scarring and hyperpigmentation.”
And what are Polynucleotides? “Polynucleotides are long chains of nucleotides, the fundamental building blocks of DNA and RNA,” Emma says. “These molecules play a crucial role in our bodies. They act as building blocks in the skin and are involved in various processes that keep up healthy and functioning. Researchers discovered that Polynucleotides possess remarkable regenerative properties when applied to the skin – which is why they’re such an effective partner with microneedling (and can
also be inected into the skin. Similar skin boosters like Profhilo, polynucleotide treatments are suitable for almost everyone seeking to rejuvenate their skin – smoothing skin, improving texture, treating hyperpigmentation, brightening the under eyes, tightening sagging eyelids and diminishing signs of ageing. NB: Polynucleotide products are derived from salmon or trout so may not be suitable for vegans.
“Polynucleotide treatments represents an exciting advancement in the field of aesthetic and regenerative medicine,” Emma tells us. “Their ability to stimulate the skin’s natural restorative processes and improve its overall appearance is remarkable. Whether you desire to reduce fine lines, improve skin texture or achieve a more youthful glow, polynucleotides could be the solution you’ve been seeking.
