Get ready for a brunch experience with a twist at Dakwala Newcastle – the city’s authentic Bombay canteen. Their Bottomless Brunch experience is available Thursday to Sunday, 12:30–4:30 pm, with 3 options to choose from:
Bubbly Bottomless Brunch – £33.95 pp
Cocktails Bottomless Brunch – £39.95 pp
Non-Alcoholic Bottomless Brunch – £24.95 Including one large plate or two small plates.
Cocktail brunches are a great option if you love as you get to try a range of drinks you might not normally order at such a great price and the Twisted Pink Martini was every sip as good as it sounds – a lush mix of vodka, cranberry, pineapple, and sweet and sour.
From the large plates, I ordered my favourite – the Old Delhi Butter Chicken – which is creamy, rich, and indulgent, served with fragrant pulao rice. It’s one of the best butter chickens I’ve had in Newcastle. Subtly smokey and slightly sweeter than a masala, the chunks of chicken were also beautifully cooked.
I’ve had Manchurian dishes before and love the Indo-Chinese history of Chicken Chilli Manchurian 1975 which results in this rich addictive flavour which is spicy and tangy – a total taste sensation and a definite must-order!
We were also loved the Bang Bang Lamb Rolls which were crispy on the outside with a beautifully balanced and lightly spiced filling.
We got through 5 cocktails each during our 90 minute sitting which is incredible value and we also discovered a new favourite – the Java Ice Tea which is a gorgeous mix of spiced rum and plum with a zingy ginger beer finish.
Dakwala is one of Newcastle’s best Indian restaurants, still relatively new. Boasting stylish interiors in the centre of town, they also offer a Sunday feast which is an all you can eat offering with unlimited starter, main and dessert at only £19.95.
