Nestled on the pristine Ba Kan Tiang Bay, located on Koh Lanta Island in Krabi province, The Pimalai Resort & Spa is more than a destination—it’s an experience. It offers a seamless blend of natural beauty and luxury, where every detail is designed to captivate. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with lily pads and smiles, a refreshing lemon tea and a flower garland, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay.
Our home for the duration was the signature Hillside Ocean View Villa, perched 60-80 meters above sea level. Surrounded by tropical jungle and overlooking the turquoise bay, the villa was a haven of tranquillity. The private infinity pool became our favourite spot, offering breath taking views as we sipped champagne from the cabana. Even a cheeky monkey decided to visit us while we sunbathed—a delightful reminder of our natural surroundings.
Inside, the villa was pure indulgence. The bedroom featured a super king-size bed, air conditioning, and a luxurious dressing area. The showstopper? A bathtub with uninterrupted ocean views—a perfect spot for a celebratory soak. Across the courtyard, a separate living area with a fully equipped kitchen and additional bathroom. Thoughtful touches like a complimentary chilled bottle of champagne, a personalised cake and a stunning flower arrangement made our honeymoon extra special.
Villa guests enjoy access to an exclusive pool, bar, and restaurant, ensuring added privacy and serenity. And thanks to the resort’s app, calling for an electric golf cart to navigate the hills was effortless, adding an eco-friendly touch to the convenience.
Dining at The Pimalai was a feast for the senses, and you are spoilt for choice with three restaurants. Each morning began with an incredible breakfast spread. From vibrant fresh fruits to indulgent Thai dishes and the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had; every bite was a delight. The stunning views from the breakfast terrace only enhanced the experience.
Evenings at the Seven Seas Restaurant were unforgettable. With its alfresco dining and elegant atmosphere, it’s a beautiful location for a romantic candlelight dining experience. On Thursday, you can indulge in their Steak and Wine Night—a decadent affair that perfectly showcases Western flavours. Twice-daily happy hours at the Pimalai Heritage Bar offered the perfect excuse to sip on expertly crafted cocktails while enjoying live music from a very talented couple.
For lunch, a visit to Rak Talay Beach Bar will provide a welcome escape from the sun, in a beautiful setting. The seafood here is unbeatable—fresh, flavourful, and a true highlight of our trip.
If you fancy getting some sand between your toes, then Pimalai’s private beach is a sanctuary for adventure lovers. Complimentary activities like paddleboarding, kayaking, and sailing are available daily until 6:30pm. One of our most cherished memories was a snorkelling and sunset excursion to Ko Haa. Surrounded by 5 striking limestone formations and crystal-clear waters, the vibrant marine life and a burnt orange sunset return will forever make this a truly unforgettable day.
Back at the resort, we discovered more unique offerings. Weekly movie nights on the beach brought a touch of magic to our evenings, while the Pimalai Spa’s complimentary classes allowed us to learn traditional massage techniques and create aromatic herbal pouches to take home. Every activity felt thoughtfully curated to enrich our stay.
The Pimalai stands out not just for its luxury but also for its heart. Founded by a family and staying true to its roots, the resort places sustainability and community support at the forefront. From eco-friendly initiatives like electric golf carts and zero-waste goals to collaborations with local businesses, every effort reflects their genuine care for the environment and the people who call this area home.
The serene atmosphere is tailored to couples and honeymooners it offers a slice of paradise that’s hard to leave, so much so that we extended our stay.
