If you’re planning an American road trip, you should definitely rent an RV from one of Blacksford RV’s three rental hubs – Phoenix, Bozeman or Las Vegas. They’ll even collect you from the airport.
Packed with home comforts, you’ll hit the road armed with everything you need to know about your chosen RV thanks to their friendly team.
Unlike some other RV rental companies, Blacksford offers free unlimited mileage with no cap, plus towels, fresh linen and bedding, cups, plates, cutlery and utensils, toilet rolls and they even have a pantry where you can grab unused essentials left by other guests to help you on your way.
Their luxury fleet ensures every vehicle is modern with low mileage and we’d especially recommend the Winnebago View RV 24D which was a great size for two people, but can fit up to five, with three double beds, a powerful shower, toilet, microwave, seating area, pop out, TV with Netflix and sink and swivel seats for versatile ‘on the road’ living.

Wherever you live in the world, the Blacksford RV team are responsive and available for all your questions in the run up to your trip, so before you’ve even landed in the US, you’ll feel confident and knowledgeable about your chosen vehicle.
The Phoenix hub rental hub which has recently opened, is located only 10 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and one of the Blacksford team will collect you and your luggage and take you to your RV where they’ll spend up to an hour talking you through all the features. As newbies to the RV holiday experience, we were grateful for the walkaround and everything was explained in detail from using the air con system to emptying the waste pipe and filling the water tank.

Our Winnebago took us on an Arizona adventure from Phoenix to Sedona, on to Grand Canyon, to Paige and to Utah before a stop off in a very snowy Flagstaff on the way back.
We stayed in some brilliant RV parks along the way which all had full hook ups, but that wasn’t totally necessary as the Winnebago has a 30 amp electric system and dual solar panels so you’re always connected, charging up all the time while you drive.
The Mercedes Benz diesel engine was super efficient and at 26ft long, our RV never felt too big to drive, while the space we had was actually quite amazing! It also handled well on small winding roads and on big highways and felt light yet sturdy.

The amount of storage space in the Winnebago was impressive and we left our suitcases at the Phoenix rental hub and unpacked everything into the cupboards and drawers – there was even room for a clever and compact hanging wardrobe in the bathroom which we definitely weren’t expecting. Being able to organise everything into separate areas was especially useful with clothing and hiking gear within easy reach.

With ac for the heat in Phoenix and warm air for the snowy nights in Flagstaff, we were snug at nights – spending our evenings making big pots of chilli con carne and pasta to keep us fuelled for our big hikes, playing board games, watching TV, listening to music via Bluetooth, and of course planning tomorrow’s new adventure!
Having never been on a hiking or RV trip before, I can honestly say I was apprehensive about this kind of trip, but the level of luxury you experience with Blacksford RV’s fleet of vehicles is second to none. Enjoying a hot shower, being able to wash and dry my hair, hob cook and microwave our meals, sleep in a comfortable double and use the toilet whenever we needed made this one of the best holidays we’ve been on.
