Fancy experiencing Soho House splendour but at a fraction of the price? Welcome to Mollie’s Motel Bristol – a budget friendly motel where you’ll find stylish décor, Soho House furniture and Dyson appliances in every room, originally founded by Nick Jones MBE.
Location

Mollie’s Motel Bristol is located just off junction 17 of the M5 making it easily accessible from the motorway and the perfect stop off if you’re headed further south or en route to Cardiff or Bath. It’s placed brilliantly for exploring all that Bristol has to offer with the city centre just 15 minutes away and for shopping, the massive leisure complex, shopping mall and retail park at Cribb’s Causeway is just a 5 minute drive. If you’re travelling here via public transport, Bristol Parkway and Bristol Temple Meads stations are only a 15 minute drive away and Bristol airport is 15 miles away. There are also Mollie’s Motels in Oxfordshire and soon to be in Manchester (opening late 2025)
Design

Influenced by 1950s style American motels, each individual Mollie’s Motel has a different feel and aesthetic. The overall vibe here is ‘home from home’ and while the unmissable red neon signage greets you as your drive in, once inside, you’ll see chic furnishings in the lobby, a stunning central bar and sliding doors to the back which reveal a fabulous courtyard area. With scattered seating and cosy areas, books and bookcases and a large workspace, it’s the perfect place to hang out while waiting for friends or enjoy a good book or a glass of wine. There are also tea and coffee making facilities here which you’re welcome to any time of the day or night.
Rooms

A minimal design ensures these comfortable but not over-sized rooms feel spacious. We loved the wood slat panelling, the built in GHD and Dyson hairdryer holders, the sink space outside the bathroom in the main bedroom space area which doubles as a dressing table, and the big comfy chair by the window. The bathroom is simple but incorporates luxury finishes and there are complimentary Cowshed products (which smell divine). Double, twin, connecting, bunk and accessible rooms are all available.
Food and Drink

Mollie’s Diner is located just a minute’s walk from the main hotel building. It’s an expansive open plan space with oak panelling, leather banquette seating and steel chrome fixtures and fittings. Popular with families and extremely reasonable (only £5.50 for a 175ml glass of wine and £9 for a very substantial burger), the menu offers an all- day dining concept with half and whole chickens, eggs all day and main plates like chicken n waffle and mac n cheese. Hot honey cheese croquettes with a creamy chipotle mayo were absolutely delicious while the grilled plant patty burger was a surprisingly tasty vegan choice. While you’re here you absolutely must grab a milkshake – the chocolate and Oreo is to-die-for.
Extras
Mollie’s Motel Bristol’s commitment to sustainability is fantastic with rapid EV charging and overnight EC charging for guests, as well as energy efficient boiling water taps on each corridor as opposed to in room kettles. With a functional building design, the materials used provides natural ventilation to improve indoor air quality too.
This has to be one of the most beautifully designed budget hotels out there. Book your stay from only £70 per room.
