Cavo Restaurant nestled in the heart of Tottenham Court Road offers a dining experience that transports you straight to the streets of Spain. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by their excellent host who guides you to the top floor where the restaurant is based on the rooftop. From the moment you step out of the lift and walk through the rooftop terrace into the restaurant you feel that you are in for a great time with the backdrop of the city adding to the amazing experience. Cavo Restaurant has just started offering up a brand new experience on Saturdays – the Pintxos, Paella, and Sangria Brunch, and we were some of the first to try this delightful culinary journey that combines traditional Spanish dishes with a modern twist.
The brunch at Cavo begins with an array of pintxos, these bite-sized delights are the perfect way to start your meal with a variety of choices and Cavo’s interpretation of Pintxos is nothing short of extraordinary. These are unlimited – something our waiter was quick to point out and he was more than happy to bring more of our favourites back to the table. From the wild mushroom croquette to the tortilla de patatas, each bite is a symphony of taste. There’s also a really great selection for vegetarians and vegans with options like grilled aubergine with parmesan cream and harissa which was a highlight for me.
After indulging in all the unlimited pintxos (while still leaving plenty of space for the main course), we were ready to savour one of Spain’s most iconic dishes – paella.
There are several paella options to choose from to please every palate and while we were tempted to try them all, the portions are so large that one sharer paella is enough! Brought to the table in a large iron skillet, visually it looked amazing and smelled incredible. I decided on the seafood paella combining a variety of deliciously cooked seafood including succulent prawns, and briny mussels, all resting atop a bed of saffron-infused rice. Each forkful a burst of seafood flavour.
To accompany this culinary journey, Cavo offers an unlimited selection of sangria. This refreshingly fruity Spanish staple is a wine cocktail guaranteed to elevate the dining experience. The classic red sangria with a rich blend of red wine, citrus fruits, and a hint of brandy comes highly recommend from me! For a twist on tradition, Cavo also does a Spanish cava sangria creating a light and refreshing alternative.
Cavo Restaurant’s Pintxos, Paella, and Sangria Brunch is a celebration of Spanish flavours that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re a seasoned lover of Spanish cuisine or a newcomer, this brunch menu offers something for everyone. From the unlimited offering of pintxos to the hearty paella and the refreshing sangrias, every element of this brunch showcases the passion and skill of Cavo’s culinary team.
Overall, I had an amazing time at Cavo, not only did I enjoy the food and drinks but with the perfect setting on the rooftop you get the best of both worlds, enjoy your brunch on the terrace or inside the restaurant, both offering breathtaking views for a memorable dining experience perfect for taking friends and family or that special someone.
