It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas across the beautiful city of London! Take a trip to the snowy slopes of Switzerland with Mews of Mayfair’s LAAX! Narnia Winter Wonderland at The Ivy Chelsea Garden
The Ivy Chelsea Garden has been transformed into a Narnia-themed wonderland, complete with the iconic Wardrobe and lamppost at the doorway. The right-hand side has been themed around the ‘Gateway to the Snow Queen’s Garden’, whilst the left-hand side of the building is centred around the ‘Snow Queen’s Throne’. On 7th and 21st December, between 12pm-3pm, the Narnia wonderland will be brought further to life through a meet and greet experience with Mr Tumnus.
Guests can also enjoy two new, warming winter cocktails; the Eastern Promise (made with a delicious blend of Crème de Violette, Bramble Gin Liqueur, Beefeater gin, and garnished with Turkish Delight and chocolate flakes) and the Narnia Negroni (made with Sloe gin, Martini Rubino, Campari and a cinnamon syrup twist, decorated with a dry orange wedge and a cinnamon stick).
Winter Festival of Lights at Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour and Tavern
In celebration of the Japanest Winter Light Festival, Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour and Tavern has been transformed into a magical illuminated oasis! Featuring exotic House of Suntory spirited cocktails and fusion dishes, it’s the perfect place to drink up delicious Japanese inspired cocktail in an insta worthy setting! With pink Japanese blossom adorning the entrance, cocktails will include the YAGOSHIMA(£10), with Suntory Roku gin, Bergamot Liqueur, Fermented Cucumber Juice, Sichuan Pepper Syrup, Egg White and Cherry Bitters and the KANPAI (£20 / £38) Punch Cocktail for two or four people to share, with Suntory Roku Gin, Green Tea & Hibiscus Liqueur, Lavender Syrup, Pink Grapefruit Juice topped with Fentimans Oriental Yuzu Tonic Water.
Libations in Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour meanwhile will include KINGDOM OF LIGHT (£13) with Suntory Roku gin, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, Kishinamien Umeshu Plum Sake and rhubarb bitters, and SHINJIRO’S SECRET (£13) made using Suntory Roku gin, balsamic glaze blend, lime juice and sugar all named after Japanese festivals.
Guests will be able to wash down their drinks with chicken gyozas, edamame beans and tuna shashimi pizza topped with wasabi mayo, pickled shallots and truffle oil!! Running until 24th November 2019, click here for more info.
Radio Rooftop’s Alpine Inspired Hideaway with Grey Goose Vodka
There’s no better place to get cosy with cocktails this festive season, than under the stars, sky-high at Radio Rooftop.
With faux-fur throws, plenty of twinkly lights and lanterns, snuggly blankets and gorgeous cocktails, Radio Rooftop have transformed their awesome rooftop into an Alpine haven. Johnnie Walker and Alto Rooftop Terrace at Selfridges
This winter, premium whisky brand Johnnie Walker has partnered with Selfridges and the team at its Alto restaurant to create the ultimate winter terrace; ‘The Rare Side of Scotland Bothy Experience’. Located on the Selfridges rooftop, this experience is the perfect setting for drinks and dinner this Christmas.
Open from now until January, this exciting three-month residency is Selfridges’ first ever winter terrace activation. To reach it, guests take an express lift from the ground floor and are then welcomed onto the Alto rooftop to enjoy an evening of food, drink or both. The Johnnie Walker Blue Label team have created four luxurious, heated bothies (traditional Scottish mountain hideaways), each complete with soft furnishings and set above the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Enchanted Woods Terrace at Madison London
In collaboration with Belvedere Vodka, Madison London which boasts one of the best terraces in the capital with backdrops of the stunning St. Pauls Cathedral, will be transformed for the festive season into The Enchanted Woods! With hot cocktails and warming snacks on the menu, the terrace launches on 6th November with cosy little lodges, wild woodland foliage and Belvedere Vodka cocktails.
Holly Fulton Christmas Tree at aqua shard
Possibly their most glamorous Christmas tree to date, aqua shard have teamed up with renowned Scottish fashion designer Holly Fulton to create DecoDance – combining whimsical designs with cthe restaurants’ contrasting modern architecture.
With traditional festive bow, DecoDance stands proudly 6 metres above ground in aqua shard’s three storey atrium. The festive installation incorporates Fulton’s own unique designs while drawing inspiration from the roaring Twenties with glamorous ‘ladies’ gracing the bottom of the tree, atop Christmas presents. Transporting you to Gstaad with Dalloway Terrace
This winter, one of our favourite hangouts Dalloway Terrace will be taking you on a journey to Gstaad – the luxurious Swiss hot spot. With Gstaad influenced décor, Swiss-inspired Afternoon Tea, warming winter cocktails, Swiss wines and a fabulous new winter menu, Dalloway Terrace is the perfect place to drink in the festivities this Christmas with its newest incarnation setting the scene of an alpine delight, courtesy of Nikki Tibble’s Wild at Heart.
Indulge in a Swiss cheese board (or two), or a cheese fondue, or go all out with roasted butternut squash risotto, gorgonzola and pine nuts, while the game ragu is sure to warm up the chilliest of visitors.
LAAX! Baby At Mews of Mayfair
Can’t get over to super cool Swiss ski resort LAAX this winter? No worries ‘cos they’re bringing it to you! The LAAX! Baby bar at Mews of Mayfair will transport you to the snowy slopes, offering a tonne of gorgeous alpine cocktails to warm those cockles in collaboration with One Gin and UK sparkling wine Ridgeview. Put hairs on your chest with Galaaxy Shots (Shot of Frozen Apple & Sage Gin), get a sweat on with La Siala (Hot One Sage Gin & Mulled Cider – the perfect winter warmer) and steam ahead with Rocks Negroni (One Sage Gin, infused with dried winter fruits, Campari and Sweet Vermouth)
There’ll also be a menu of specially curated food to keep the hunger pangs at bay including charcuterie boards of air dried meats, and of course, traditiaon Swiss cheese fondue made from a blend Le Gruyere AOP, Schlossberger and Reblochon Cheese, melted down with white wine and a splash of kirsch. Savage Garden’s Savage Schloss Ski Lodge
London’s wildest rooftop bar Savage Garden is launching its crazy apres ski bar in time for all the festivities in the run up to Christmas. With bench and table dancing totally allowed (don your best ski boots), the gondola lift from the lobby will transport you to an apres playground with winter games including reality skiing and air hockey plus cheesy Europop tunes and a tonne of glühwein.
During the day, there’ll be a cosy Skihütte atmosphere with gingham curtains, boozy hot chocolate and plenty of cheesy Raclette. But by night, Savage Garden will most definitely be going off piste with oompah band anthems, steins of beer and champagne from Bollinger and Ayala. We can’t wait to get involved. The Elyx Chalet at Rosewood London
Rosewood London have teamed up with Absolut Elyx to transform their stunning courtyard into a Southern Swedish winter wonderland to serve up luxury vodka based cocktails in a magical chalet setting.
Staying open until 29th February, guests will get to indulge in seasonal cooking while sipping on hot and cold delights like the Glögg – Absolut Elyx’s creative twist on a mulled wine with red wine, port and spices; The Nutcracker mixing Spices and Peanut Butter washed with Absolut Elyx and the Taiga Old Fashioned with Porcini Mushroom infused whisky, Oak Smoke and Black Walnut Bitters, garnished with Douglas Fir. To compliment these divine sips, Head Chef Calum Franklin has curated a menu of winter dishes including Jersey Rock oysters , 50 day aged Cornish rare breed sirloin with bearnaise sauce and Paris brest, pistastico, raspberry and white chocolate
The Elyx Chalet at Rosewood London will be open Wednesday – Saturday, 4pm till late.
Secret Forest at Harvey Nichols
Until 5th January, you can visit The Secret Forest at Harvey Nichols which has been transformed with Visa. Taking you on a journey from the magical Northern Lights on the buildings’ façade, you’ll be transported to a festive hideaway with a mystical woodland and winter scene under a never ending sky. There’ll be festive films with Pocket Cinema, including Home Alone and The Muppet Christmas Carol and Saturday Schools workshops along with ice cream cocktails and Nordic nibbles.
