If you’re after dreamy Italian cuisine without leaving London, Como Garden should be your next restaurant visit – inspired by the beautiful gardens of Lake Como.
Located is in the luxurious area of Kensington, Como Garden is a tranquil spot hidden amongst the hustle and bustle, giving off authentic Italian vibes right here in the capital.

The style and décor of the restaurant transports you immediately to the sun-soaked gardens of Lake Como as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are welcoming and charming to make you feel at ease and you’re guaranteed incredible views from every single seat in the restaurant, surrounded by greenery and trees, with twinkling fairy lights and cosy comfortable cushions adding to the overall vibes.
Meanwhile for alfresco diners and the warm summer months in London, there is seating outside along the street – presented exactly how it would be if you were in an Italian town watching the world go by. I can imagine this being a little paradise during the July and August.

Unique in its style of cuisine, Como Garden is an Italian tapas restaurant as opposed to the usual large plates of pizza and pasta. Having hand selected the most popular dishes from all regions of Italy, it’s a sharer concept style and you can try out as many Italian dishes as you wish. The menu covers a vast number of dishes including refined pizza and pasta options, meat, fish, vegetables, salads, antipasti and contorni – definitely a dish suitable for everyone! The menu is designed to cater for around three dishes per person to experience a broader culinary offering while Como Garden even has a specialised pasta chef who makes the pasta fresh on site by hand every day.

We enjoyed crunchy balls of arancini packed with parmesan deliciousness and fontina cheese. Fontina comes from Italy’s Aosta Valley region – buttery, rich and creamy tasting, this dish was sensational!
Beef carpaccio was subtle tasting and melt-in-the-mouth – the parmesan cutting through the slightly gamey flavours.
Melanzane parmigiana (always a must-order) had that gorgeous rich olive oil flavour and perfectly cooked soft aubergines as well as plenty of cheese, and the black truffle and 24 month parmesan Taglioni – well I’ve seen this trending in so many restaurants that it was a no brainer to try it. Presented to the table beautifully, the cheese was softened and mixed into the pasta right in front of us – a real piece of at-your-seat restaurant theatre.

We finished off with the best tiramisiu I think I’ve ever tasted – seriously out of this world, the combo of coffee, chocolate and cream was just divine, possibly even better than the desert I tried in Italy and that says it all really doesn’t it?!
The stuff were extremely helpful explaining how the dining experience works and talking through all the dishes that were on offer, which made the whole experience wonderful. If I was you, I would be booking my next date night at Como Garden and enjoying the Italian high life. What’s more, being able to sample several dishes at once makes for a slightly unique Italian experience. I’ve no doubt you’ll love Como Garden as much as we did!
