In the age of Instagram filters and TikTok tutorials, Gen Z are flipping the script on dental care. No longer is dentistry something to worry about in your 30s or 40s – this generation is all about early intervention, long-term maintenance, and weaving oral health into their overall wellness and beauty routines. And nowhere is this shift more apparent than at The Tooth Club.
From Invisalign in their early 20s to professional whitening treatments before holidays and hygiene appointments booked as regularly as facials, Gen Z are embracing the concept of the “preventative smile.” They’re not waiting for problems like crooked teeth, discolouration or plaque build-up to become issues – they’re investing in their smiles now, seeing it as an essential part of their image and identity.
“The under-30 demographic is our fastest growing segment,” explains Kunal Thakkar, CEO and founder at The Tooth Club. “They come in knowing exactly what they want – subtle alignment, whiter teeth, a healthier look – and they see smile care as just as important as their skincare routine. It’s refreshing to see this kind of proactive attitude.”
This shift is partly driven by a hyper-visual culture. Gen Z grew up with front-facing cameras and the expectation of being ‘on’ at all times. Their awareness of how their smile looks on camera, combined with access to more affordable, minimally invasive treatments, means they’re making smile maintenance a lifestyle non-negotiable.
“We’re seeing a definite move away from ‘emergency dentistry’ to long-term oral wellness,” says Kunal. “Patients in their twenties are asking the right questions about gum health, alignment, and even the connection between oral health and gut health.”
Composite bonding has become a popular treatment among this age group, offering instant cosmetic results with zero downtime and minimal prep. At-home whitening kits purchased through trusted clinics also appeal to their preference for convenience and control. Importantly, they’re seeking out professional-grade solutions over fads – choosing dental clinics over DIY trends for safer, more effective results.
“Gen Z want real results without compromising their health,” Kunal says. “They’re more educated than ever – and we’re here for it.”
With a strong focus on education, prevention and aesthetics, The Tooth Club is leading the charge in helping Gen Z redefine what it means to take care of your smile. This isn’t just about looking good – it’s about future-proofing confidence.
