Enjoy healthier locks this summer, with these need-to-know tips from the UK’s number one Hair Restoration Specialists – Este Medical Group.
Hair, similar to skin, comes in all colours, textures, lengths, ages and conditions. From alopecia to hormone related hair thinning… from irritated scalps to oily roots, and from split ends to colour-treated locks; haircare and understanding your tresses are key in keeping them healthy.
As well as wearing heat defence spray, using no-snag bobbles to reduce breakage and going easy on damaging hair treatments (such as bleach) how else can we keep our tresses in top condition… and overcome everyday haircare concerns?
“Looking after your hair is no easy feat, as our locks are prone to damage, thinning, dryness, breakage and more,” explains Sam Cinkir, founder of Este Medical Group (the UK’s #1 Hair Restoration Specialists.) “However, making just a few small tweaks to your haircare routine and lifestyle can help you maintain healthier hair.”
Sam Cinkir’s Top Insider Tips for Healthier Hair
1. Eat a balanced, healthy diet: Eating foods rich in vitamins and minerals -such as leafy greens, nuts & fruits, can help support healthy hair growth and thickness. Many say a plant-based diet is key to thriving hair and scalp, as it’s high in essential vitamins and minerals that help reduce the risk of hair loss breakage and split ends.
2. Try hair treatments: If you’re struggling with hair loss/lacklustre hair, there are a few in-clinic treatments you can look to. I have gone through similar hair growth treatments myself, and I’ve personally performed them for many women, too.
At Este Medical Group, we offer a vary of hair restoring procedures including Low-Level Laser Therapy – a ground-breaking treatment where the laser lights are used on a low level to irradiate photons into the human tissue, allowing them to be absorbed by weaker cells in order to restore their strength. Laser therapy is a great way to restore back hair follicles as it stimulates the natural hair growth cycle phase: growth, resting and shedding… which successfully results in new hair growth, the natural way.
We also offer Mesotherapy injections, which comprises of micro-injections filled with active ingredients being injected into the mesoderm (the middle layer of the skin). This stimulates the hair follicles; encouraging hair growth that is stronger and healthier, halting hair loss. By stimulating the mesoderm of the skin, this treatment can aid the recovery of many symptoms which can cause hair loss.
3. Avoid harsh chemicals: Avoid using harsh chemicals and use heated styling tools less frequently as they can damage your hair, leading to breakage and thinning. Look for shampoos with hair-kind ingredients (think: Aloe Vera, Biotin, Shea Butter and Herbal Extracts) and water-based haircare products; as they provide hydration and moisture to the hair without leaving a residue. Moreover, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of a water-based product depends on your specific hair needs and preferences – so it’s always best to consult with a professional or do research on the specific products you are interested in.
Remember, everyone’s hair is different, so it’s important to find what works best for you. Consult with a professional if you have any concerns or specific hair conditions.
