There’s not long to wait for Newcastle’s hottest new hotel opening… With a slight delay to Hotel Gotham Newcastle’s unveiling we can expect theatre, glamour and grandeur come October 2025.
From the Gotham Hotel Collection who already have a Hotel Gotham in Manchester, the Newcastle addition to the family will be located in the Old Fire Station on Pilgrim Street, which was first built in 1931 and included the magistrates court and police station.
Opening in two phases, the earlier launch will see The Fire Station side of Hotel Gotham Newcastle ready first, offering 57 beautifully designed bedrooms with luxurious furnishings and opulent interiors, as well as a restaurant and private member’s bar with DJ booth.
In early 2026, The Police Station side of the hotel will open with an event space for up to 120 guests housed in the historic court rooms along with 30 further bedrooms.
Transporting guests to 1920s Hollywood, Hotel Gotham Newcastle will channel the glitz of a bygone era, blending history and modern style within the walls of the Grade II listed building.
There are several room categories at Hotel Gotham Newcastle. Club rooms boast super king sized beds and Egyptian cotton bed linen as well as fluffy robes and slippers, a minibar, marble en-suite and monsoon showers. Argentum products are the hotel’s exclusive toiletries collection featuring luxe vegan formulas and mood-enhancing fragrances which sound dreamy. There are also flatscreen TVs and Roberts radios which connect via Bluetooth, along with the signature style that Hotel Gotham have become known for. Cosy clubs are slightly smaller, while the officers and Gotham suites include access to the Club Brass private member’s lounge and feature emperor beds. The expansive station master suite meanwhile offers up a luxurious bath in the bathroom and 46sqm of beautifully designed space.
Siren Restaurant with Executive head chef David Kennedy at the helm will be serving up local produce with a farm-to-fork approach combining classical techniques and modern trends. Grab a pre or post drink at Fire Bar open daily from 10.30am until late, serving a range of cocktails and classic bar bites. For members and Gotham guests, VIP space Club Brass
