Beware of imitations – Mahiki is the original tiki paradise!
A favourite for celebrities over the years, there’s no mistaking that infamous doorway on Dover Street that has seen everyone from Prince Harry to Rihanna and Beyonce being papped as they slope down those stairs into the ultimate glam hangout.
With a gorgeous new look, you’ll find The Lani Lounge open from 6pm with a half price happy hour until 9pm on all platters and cocktails. After 9pm, you’ll find a daring tropical jungle with a hawaiian backdrop, honolulu style waitresses and a bar area laden with fresh strawberries, pineapples and coconuts. The Lani Lounge is guaranteed to take you right back to your favourite Caribbean dream, lying in a hammock, drinking rum in the sunshine before partying on the beach with the sand between your toes!
Downstairs lies the Aloha Party Room – a Mahiki-tiki underworld. The dark side to paradise where anything can happen after the sun goes down! With carvings and intricate murals, a stunning ceiling lighting centre-piece and plenty of huge tables and booths to sit your ornate drinking vessels, there’s plenty of room down here to pull your very best shapes!
The award-winning club which used to be notoriously difficult to get in, now has a more relaxed door policy. We recommend you get dressed up though and splash the cash for a special night out. You’re definitely going to need the legendary Treasure Chest to get things going (£160 serves 8) – a real treasure chest brimming with Mahiki Grog, brandy and peach liquer, lime and sugar and topped with a bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne. You can also shake things up with The Sea Pearl or the Mahiki Ocean Sweeper, and while the dj spins his tunes, there’s bound to be the chance to ‘go surfing USA’ at some point throughout the night which involves copious amounts of shots carried out on a full-size surf board (it’s gotta be seen to be believed).
Hidden away, there’s a secret karaoke room which resembles your Hamptons style holiday home. Book the Ciroc Pineapple Beach House for up to 30 guests complete with karaoke machine and jet-ski simulator (a favourite of the London celeb-set).
Yes Mahiki may have been a paradise on earth for some years now, but but this tropical tiki wonderland is still our absolute favourite for a glam, fun-filled night out.
Flowers garlands an absolute must.
