MINI is definitely a car ‘For the Girl Who Likes To Go Places’! There might be nothing better than living in London, but when you’re here, all you want is to get out of the city! And what better way to do that than in a new MINI convertible which has everything you could possibly need for city life and for bombing around the countryside.
Packed for a trip to the Welsh valleys for some hill hikes and wine drinking in cosy pubs (and perhaps a spot of Euro 2016 action), we threw our Gucci holdalls into our gorgeous MINI’s ample sized boot, took the roof off and hit the M40.
Two girls in a MINI convertible and the conversation easily swerves into men territory. Not our usual chatter though, this time, discussing the blatant similarities between the perfect man and our new wheels! Strong, ridiculously good looking, attention-grabbing, exciting, always ready to go that extra mile and of course, looks even better with the top off.
But MINI convertible goes one stop further than any man. First, he doesn’t mind that we need to be constantly connected to our mobiles. MINI’s on-board computer easily syncs to your phone and you even download a load of apps to make your driving that little bit more enjoyable. Spotify, weather apps, your entire contact list so you can make phone calls to all your fave people at the touch of a button… It’s all so easy.
Then, a guy might not understand your fascination for cool lighting and the occasional bit of extra bling. Step forward MINI’s gorgeous lighting settings meaning you can kit our your car with pretty spot lights for some subtle mood enhancers. Pinks, purples, blues and greens – choose one for every day of the week or to match the time of day (we particularly liked the bright purple which looks amazing at night!) There’s also the most amazing MINI hologram which appears on the pavement when you park up and close your door. Just in case you’re in any doubt that you are indeed driving the coolest car in the car park.
Cleverer than any man, MINI knows exactly when you’re gonna be out of fuel, so you can get to a petrol station before you end up stranded on the road looking look like an idiot. It’ll tell you when there’s rain on the way, so you can get the hood up before you get soaked, and yes, maybe this particular feature is more pleasing to women drivers than the man who knows everything, but the screen on your dash will tell you when to change gear to ensure the most economical ride! There’s also sport mode for an extra thrill of a ride and green mode if you want to get more for your money, or just go for the standard drive for that perfect MINI adventure.
With its unmistakable shape, 16″ alloys, sports leather steering wheel, on-board computer system, heated seats, fog lights, weather sensors, air con, bluetooth and USB connections, there isn’t anything that MINI hasn’t thought of. The convertible hood even comes with a half on / half off option – a kind of extension of a normal car’s sun roof for those warm but not sizzling summer days.
In fact, I think the new MINI convertible could just about be better than any man. Cancel that date, I’ve already got one and we’re about to hit the road together…
