Even though the whole of the ground floor is an imaginative fluid space, there are plenty of different areas for sitting and chilling, working or waiting (while your mates take 10 hours to get ready…)
The 18th century building was a former hat factory and you’ll see a stylish wall display paying homage, as well as nods everywhere, to Manchester’s vibrant music scene.
In the evenings the downstairs space is transformed into a buzzy social hub with live DJs spinning the tunes and cocktails flowing at the bar – it’s the perfect pre or post party hang out and there’s also food snacks available to buy 24/7 so you’ll never go hungry no matter what time you roll back to the hotel!
The Moxy Manchester definitely lacks the stuffiness or indeed pretentiousness that comes with some hotels. While the rooms don’t offer up the absolute height of luxury, they’re comfortable and functional – cool enough for you to get ready and have a warm-up drink in, and return to later for a cosy night’s sleep.
If you are planning a chill night, Netflix is included, and we also loved the modern look bathrooms complete with ultra hip MUK products to enhance your shower experience! The metal grid on the wall for hanging your clothes up is another quirky addition, doing away with the more conventional idea of a wardrobe! Then again, this is not your typical Marriott hotel – the Bonvoy brand prides itself on enriching experiences for the curious traveller!
You couldn’t be more central with The Ivy, 20 Stories, The Blues Kitchen, Albert’s Schloss and all that Deansgate and Spinningfields has to offer, literally on the doorstep. And let’s face it, there’s something very re-assuring about knowing that at the end of the night you’ve literally got a 5 minute walk to your bed!
