Dubai is unlike anywhere else in the world. Desert land fashioned into architecturally amazing skyscrapers, some of the most luxurious hotels in the world and an abundance of high end restaurants, pool parties and Friday brunches, make it a desirable holiday destination for those who like to splash to cash. But where should you stay when you’re out there?
With hundreds of hotels on offer, it all comes down to preference and if you happen to be looking for something brand new, contemporary and stylish with Miami pool vibes, then the Avani Ibn Battuta could well be the place for you.
Having just opened in November, Avani Ibn Battuta is situated at the far end of the Sheikh Zayed Road – a 30 minute drive from the airport, a short 15 minute taxi ride to The Palm and just 10 minutes from the Dubai Marina. It’s all right next door to the Ibn Battuta Mall should you be there for the shopping, but of course, lounging by the pool was definitely more up our street.
The Avani Ibn Battua boasts a mega impressive rooftop pool area on the third floor – a sun worshipper’s paradise with two separate pools (one that’s perfect for laps and cooling off and another for kids), a stylish bar area and a massive amount of luxurious loungers and parasols. It screams ‘luxurious beach club’ and it’s also the perfect place to enjoy breakfast in the morning before the heat hits.
Rooms at the Avani Ibn Battuta are wonderfully stylish. The superior rooms are cosy but compact with an open plan bathroom which can be closed off with sliding doors. But if you really want to see the best of this hotel, then you need to book a suite. Expansive, with full lounge area, kitchen and dining table, sliding doors separate this from the main double bedroom which has a stunning, huge open plan bathroom and free standing tub. As a bonus the sunsets from our massive windows were insane!
The amount of space is really liberating, and you’ll find you settle in very easily, chilling out in the lounge area on the comfy sofas, or sitting round the table supping on a jalapeno margarita courtesy of room service.
The restaurant is another impressive space. Uber chic, with gorgeous fixtures and fittings, the Avani Ibn Battuta has a number of great special offers on at the moment including a business lunch and ladies day cocktails. And with everyone massively into their coffee and cake in Dubai, the stunning reception area with its floor to ceiling glass has a lovely coffee shop where you can order any time of the day or night.
