For a luxurious stay in a boutique hotel without the fuss, The Resident Covent Garden is a great choice. While there’s no restaurant or bar at the hotel, The Resident’s rooms all feature cleverly concealed mini-kitchens so you can whip up a simple meal, brekkie, or enjoy a takeaway, while enjoying all the features that you’d expect in one London’s upscale hotels.
Check in
The Resident Covent Garden has a great little reception area with some of the most pleasant hotel staff I’ve ever been checked in by! There’s absolutely no faffing around and you’ll have your room key in no time at all. I loved the incredible floral arrangements in the window which make the area feel so welcoming when you first walk in. Clean, light and bright, there’s also a small dining room to the back of the reception desks where you can plan your adventures for the day.
Location
You can’t get a better location for all that London has to offer than at The Resident Covent Garden. A short stroll away you’ll find the gorgeous Covent Garden piazza with alfresco dining, an array of artisan shops, restaurants and bars and that addictive buzz that the area is famous for. One minute in the other direction and you’ll find yourself on The Strand, with Trafalgar Square and Embankment just a stone’s throw away.
Some of Luxe Bible’s favourite restaurants are within walking distance and include The Ivy Market Grill, Cinnamon Bazaar, The Porterhouse and Dirty Martini, as well as Sushisamba, Bisushima and the awesome Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration which is located right across the road.
The Rooms
We were super impressed with the stylish rooms and ultra modern bathroom in grey slate and marble. The rainfall shower and luxurious Gilchrist & Soames toiletries really added to the experience, while the super comfy and spacious pocket sprung beds provided a heavenly night’s sleep. Super fast wifi, a range of TV channels and of course the mini-kitchen which is cleverly concealed in a slim cupboard made this a practical stay with the fine touches of a luxury hotel. With so many gorgeous restaurants and bars in such close proximity, you might find you don’t get to use your kitchen hub, but when there’s the odd night when you want to grab a takeaway, the fabulous staff will happily bring it up to your room for you, or they can pre-stock your fridge with groceries ready for your arrival should you need them.
In addition to the Covent Garden hotel, The Resident has stylish abodes in Soho, Kensington and Victoria, as well as Liverpool – all with their own unique individual character to reflect the area. You might arrive as a tourist, but the easy style, relaxed manner of the staff and that touch of luxury will ensure you become a regular very quickly!
